Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce Announces Event Cancellations

A message from HVCC President, Nicholas Lauritzen:

I would like to make this message short and invite you to carry on with your lives today.

In light of Utah’s Governor Gary R. Herbert’s announcement regarding the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease), the Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors made the decision to suspend ALL Chamber events, including the upcoming luncheon and new member orientation scheduled for March 19th, beginning today, March 13, 2020 through March 31, 2020. During this time, we will continue to follow the guidance of our local health department, local stakeholders and the state’s Coronavirus Task Force to ensure we are supporting the state-wide efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

There will be an impact on Hurricane Valley in the next 6 – 8 months. Whether that impact is negative or positive is up to “US” as community leaders, retailers, and businesses. As the economy continues to feel the aftermath of this virus and as tourism slows, we advise you to be wise with your business transactions, minimize unnecessary business expenditures, keep your employees working, and keep using our local businesses. If we do these things, we will come out of this further ahead than those who panic and shut everything down.

Be creative in your marketing. Be kind. Be giving. Be meek. Be understanding. Show compassion and keep finding ways to keep our local businesses thriving.

We encourage businesses of all sizes to simply post and communicate vital information, updates, and reminders at work.

Thank you for your understanding. We love you. We pray for you. We want to see you succeed.
