The Learning Center for Families (TLC) was developed under a grant to serve infants and toddlers with disabilities in Washington County, Utah. The grant was funded by the Utah Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services.
The program allows children to enhance their developmental skills through music and movement and has become very popular in the community.
Research has shown that the years from prenatal development through 36 months of age provide a window of opportunity for enriching infant/toddler development that can provide lifelong positive outcomes. But for many infants and toddlers, this crucial time can also be a period of heightened vulnerability due to stresses such as poor health, developmental complications, poverty and/or less than optimal home environments.
Families who face these difficulties often need help navigating their challenges. The Learning Center for Families offers several programs to ensure the success of our youngest, most vulnerable members of our community.
