Two Businesses Honored as HVCC June 2020 Business of the Month

The votes are in and two deserving Hurricane Valley businesses tied for the honor of being recognized as the June 2020 Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce Businesses of the Month.

Cherry Creek Media has been actively engaged in keeping customers and listeners updated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company gave away over $6,000 worth of advertising, awarding local businesses with free advertising on their seven local radio stations.

Weekly winners were announced and the company continues to offer discounted advertising slots in an effort to assist those businesses adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also honored in June is Hurricane Family Pharmacy.

Cliff Holt, pharmacist and owner of Hurricane Family Pharmacy, handed out $100 in two-dollar bills to each of his 40 employees with the stipulation that they only spend it at locally owned businesses and franchises.

The rules were:
1. Employees had to spend the money within 30 days.
2. The money had to be spent at a locally owned Hurricane Valley business.
3. Employees had to spend the money as cash.
4. They had to give 10% to charity.

Since the program began, Holt said he has implemented different phases of the idea. The pharmacy keeps two-dollar bills in their cash register as part of one of the phases to give as change. They also did a giveaway where the first 1,000 customers to come in received a two-dollar bill.

Both businesses continue to implement programs and ideas to stimulate the staggering economy. Congratulations to both on being nominated and voted by their peers to be honored as the June 2020 Business of the Month.
