Spilsbury Hurricane Valley Mortuary – Part-Time Position

Spilsbury Mortuary is seeking to hire a self-motivated, reliable person to fill a part-time position at their Hurricane Valley Mortuary office. Hours are Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Color Country Automotive Honored as HVCC April Business of the Month

Congratulations to Color Country Automotive of Hurricane, Utah on being voted as the Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce April 2019 Business of the Month. This recognition is awarded to HVCC business members who have contributed extensive time, energy and resources to the Hurricane Valley area and Southern Utah region.

Owned by Dwaine and Joe Holland, Color Country Automotive provides honest car repair and sales and is known for their friendly customer service. Two of the nominations read: “Color Country Automotive is involved in the community and sponsors or participates in many Hurricane Valley activities and events.” “They are the only one’s I trust my car with – you always know you’re getting a fair deal.”

Color Country Automotive will be honored at the HVCC luncheon on Thursday, April 18th at the Hurricane City Community Center, 63 S. 100 W., Hurricane, Utah, beginning with networking at 11:30 am. Cost for lunch is $12.00 per person. Luncheon speakers will be Hurricane Police Chief, Lynn L Excell, LaVerkin Police Chief, Ben Lee, and Washington County Undersheriff, James Standley. They will address crime and criminal activity happening in Hurricane Valley and suggest ways to protect yourself and your business.

Ground Breaking Ceremony scheduled for Hurricane Heights Affordable Residential Development

Forte’ Development, LLC is proud to announce the Ground Breaking for one of their projects, Hurricane Heights Affordable Residential Project on April 17, 2019 at 12:00 noon. The development is located between 600-400 North and 700-500 West streets in Hurricane, Utah.

The project is comprised of 149 Town Home Units and 49 Single Family Residences and is intended to provide affordable housing for the residents of Hurricane, Utah. Both City Council and Planning Commission members stated a large gap in affordable housing exists for Hurricane area residents. They stated a need for affordable first-time buying opportunities for teachers, police officers and other professions in the area.

The location provides access to all of Hurricane including access within 1 block to three (3) schools and 3 blocks from Main Street. It also provides beautiful views of the mountains of Zion National Park and Sky Mountain. It will provide family-oriented amenities such as a full playground and Pickle Ball courts.
