Interstate Rock Products honored as October 2017 Business Member of the Month

The Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce Honors Interstate Rock Products as October 2017 Business Member of the Month

Interstate Rock Products began in 1953 as Stratton Brothers Construction Company. In 1981, Stratton Brothers Construction reorganized and formed Interstate Rock Products, Inc., creating an entity that has been performing construction work for over 60 years. The work experience of the current owners and managers of Interstate Rock span almost 5 decades and have produced expertise in a wide range of projects.

IRP is a full service general engineering contractor, with extensive background in street, road, and highway construction. They have been a prime contractor on new and reconstructed bridges, have worked on and made repairs to airports in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Additionally, they have considerable experience in other infrastructure needs from water and sewer systems to dams, settling ponds, and water treatment facilities. They have worked on projects in isolated areas, such as Death Valley, to busy downtown main streets and have built parks from Crater Lake, Oregon to complete park reconstructions in Willow Beach, Lake Mead Recreational Area in Arizona. They have worked with individual homeowners and developers, cities and towns, and other clients including state departments of transportation such as UDOT along with various federal agencies including Federal Highways and National Park Service. Permanent IRP batch plants are located in St. George and Hurricane, Utah as well as Fredonia, Arizona. Additionally, IRP gravel pits are located in Hurricane and LaVerkin, Utah, and produce more than 500,000 tons of aggregate each year for use in Southern Utah.

Over the years, Interstate Rock Products has employed thousands of local people, supporting the stability and economy of Southern Utah. As well as providing employment opportunities, IRP is a huge supporter of Southern Utah events and activities, such as the annual SUHBA Parade of Homes, Washington County Fair, Washington County School District, HVCC Installation & Awards Banquet, and many more.
Their moto: “With IRP, you get over a half-century of experience and a binding contract based on a good handshake”.
