Becky A. Smith is the Associate Dean of Academic Outreach for Dixie State College of Utah. Her responsibilities include oversight of the Hurricane Education Center, online and broadcast courses, concurrent enrollment and cooperative education.
In her 30 year tenure at Dixie, she has served as a faculty member in business and office programs, and computer information systems. She has watched the institution grow in its transition from a once small junior college to a respected regional state college delivering quality bachelor degree programs.
Prior to working at Dixie State, her first teaching assignment was at Bryce Valley High School in Tropic, Utah. She has a MEd from USU; a BS from WSU; and an AS from Dixie. A native of Kamas, Utah, she is a Northern transplant to this great place called Utah's Dixie. The red sand has certainly filled her shoes.

Jeff Harding is Director of Operations for the Huntsman World Senior Games. As such he is responsible for most non-competition aspects of the Games; i.e. volunteers, sports socials, the gift shop, information, transportation and vendors, etc.
Prior to working for the Games, Harding spent over three years working in marketing for the St. George Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. His responsibilities there included promoting sports and events, guides and outfitters and films in Washington county.
A native of Northern Utah, Harding has been a marketing manager for Weber County recreational facilities and the Ogden Eccles Conference Center/Peervs Egyptian Theater. He also spent 10 years working in the Public Affairs Office of the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden and Salt Lake City.

Christian Acosta is the Deposit Officer for SunFirst Bank and has been with the bank for two years. This is his second year as a Board member and he really enjoys being involved within the community. He was born and raised in Southern California, then moved to Southern Utah in 2007. Christian graduated from Cal State Long Beach, with a BA in History, and is currently working on his MBA.

Jim and Eileen moved to Hurricane in May of 2008. Together, they manage the Stor-N-Lock Self Storage facility on the west side of town. They also live on site. Their business was voted "Business of the Year" for 2008, and they also won a beautification award from the City of Hurricane in the same year.
Jim and Eileen enjoy Hurricane and Southern Utah. The area is great for year round golf and tennis, and living next to a national park like Zion is a great bonus. Their children and grandchildren love to visit, there is so much to do and see. It is perfect for their eight very active grandchildren.
Jim is looking forward to serving the community, and what better way than through the Hurricane Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Becky is a preconstruction specialist for Questar Gas Company. She has been employed by QGC for 21 years. Becky has been an active member of the HVCC for 13 years, also serving as a Twister at various Chamber activities. She graduated from Ten Sleep High School (Wyoming) then Ricks College and Brigham Young University, respectively.
